Down and Dirty!

Maybe it's your kids all grungy and dirty after a day of play or the pile of dirty dishes in your sink. Perhaps it's the black hole of doom in your kitchen junk drawer or the pile of never-ending laundry in front of the washing machine.
Whatever it is that comes to mind when you hear the term, "Down and Dirty!" (Yes girls you CAN go there!!) In the theme of this challenge, let's break out the messy stuff!! INK! PAINT! GLITTER! MODGE PODGE! EMBOSSING POWDER! If it's messy, you can use it! Let's get DOWN AND DIRTY!!!

What's going on in your life RIGHT NOW?

Take a photo that represents your life in this moment. Maybe it's your messy scrap table? The contents of your purse? Your full laundry basket? The papers on the floor in your car? Just about anything that represents something about you right now.

The only requirements are that you can't use a photo with any people in it and 90% of the layout must be created using items from the CropAddict kit!

All layouts must be posted in the CropAddict gallery with a link in the comments section of this post.

In addition to your chance at a guest spot on the fabulous CropAddict Design Team all entries will have a chance for a prize from us here at Scrapdragons. We will pick one person at random from all the entries to recieve a $10 gift certificate to CropAddict!!

A Prayer Request...

We are very sad to let you all know that our creative team member Niki may not be around much these days.

On Tuesday April 30th her daughter Ellie was diagnosed with a diffusely infiltrative brain stem glioma. Ellie spent three days in the hospital with mom and dad while meeting with several specialist in preparation for the radiation that is to start on Monday May 5th. A website has been created by Pat and Niki so that you may follow them as they embark on this horrendous and difficult journey.

Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers and pray for Ellie that God heals her.

We love Niki & hope that all of you that visit our blog will join us in supporting her through this difficult time.

Modern Paper Piecing!

A new twist on an old favorite!!

Create a layout featuring your own handmade, layered funkalicious paper piecing!

Let's talk textures, layering, and 3D !!

What you need to do is create a paper piecing by hand. We're not talking your classic tear bears or Disney paper piecing, we're talkin hand made, layers, stamping, 3D and funkalicious!

How about a hand drawn bird? A really cool stamped image that you layer, stamp, ink, paint and embellish?

Check this out...Gabi & Laura were visiting their local scrapbook store. (If you are ever in the New Jersey area, be sure to check out Scrapbooking Moments in Time. It is a fabulous store with a friendly & helpful staff. Click on there name & visit their website. If you stop in be sure to tell them we sent you.) While they were there...Pat, the owner, was showing us all her new inventory & this cute little card she had made. We thought is was a perfect example of another twist on the paper piecing idea. The little bird is put together with pieces of ribbon.

Foolin' Around!

Here is our latest challenge challenge in honor of April Fool's Day
You need to use the word "fool" somewhere on your layout, it can be in the title or the journaling.

You must use something "unexpected" on the layout. You know... something not traditionally used for scrapbooking... use your imagination!

You must not use any two products from the same line/manufacturer other than cardstock!

Rapidly growing contest blog seeking creative team!!
The Scrapdragons want YOU!!

We are looking for 4 more members to join our Scrapdragons Creative Team!!

This Creative Team call is open to EVERYONE - World Wide.

What You Will Get:

A 6-month term on the Scrapdragon Creative Team with options to renew at the end of the 6 month term.

Scrap STUFF! Each month we'll send you a small scrap rak pack of goodies to play with! It will depend on the month what we send out but we have our hands in the latest and greatest stuff!! As we grow and get more sponsors we hope to have more goodies to pass along!

What we are looking for:

Creative scrapbookers who like to think outside the box. This is a challenge blog with funky and fun challenges!

The workload for the creative team will be light and quite easy to manage (only 2 layouts a month are required) but an ability to get things done on time is definitely important!

What You Need To Do:

In the body of the e-mail please include the following:

With American Idol on...we here at Scrapdragon have been feeling the music. So we want you to be feeling it too!

So our challenge for you this month is to use CD or Album Cover art to inspire a layout. The layout can be any size and any type.
